Straight Up Films is a fully integrated media company, focused on creating high level content for a global audience. Founded in 2008 by Marisa Polvino and Kate Cohen, some of Straight Up’s releases are Transcendence, distributed by Warner Brothers in April 2014 and starring Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany, Morgan Freeman, and Rebecca Hall; Jane Got A Gun, released in 2016, starring Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, and Joel Edgerton; and Shot: The Psycho-Spiritual Mantra of Rock, produced alongside VICE Media and distributed by Magnolia Pictures. Most recently, Straight Up Films produced the well-received Power On short film series, in partnership with Google and YouTube, and aimed at encouraging girls in STEAM fields.

Some highlights of their current development slate include Alex a thriller, to be directed by Louis Leterrier, based on a three part French book series by Pierre Lemaitre; Dissonance, an adaptation of a YA novel set in the multiverse and directed by Catherine Hardwicke; and a limited series based on Hedy Lamarr, starring Diane Kruger
